Formality First: Always use formal titles (Gospodin for Mr., Gospođa for Mrs./ Ms.) with the person's last name until they explicitly invite you to use their first name. This shows respect. You may encounter the term Gospođica (traditionally "Miss"). In contemporary Croatian business practice, however, "Gospođa" is the preferred and universally respectful title for all women. It aligns with the international use of "Ms." and avoids any assumption about personal marital status, keeping the focus squarely on professional respect.
The Handshake: A firm handshake with direct eye contact is the standard professional greeting for men and women.
Punctuality is Key: Being on time for meetings is a sign of respect. While things may start a few minutes late, you should always aim to be punctual.
